How can you gauge a stationary bikes speed?

Question: How can you gauge a stationary bikes speed?

I have a Schwin IC Pro and my goal is to ride 20 miles every day. How can I gauge my speed? It has no speedometers or anything like that.

Stationary bikes don't move, so you can't ride 20 miles on one. Ride by time and effort, buy yourself a heart rate monitor to gauge your level of effort and ride for 45-60 minutes per day

Most people will take 90 minutes to ride 20 miles. So that is your clue. You could see if you can install a bike computer with cadence counter. That will give you a good deal of information.

They don't show a Mpower console for that model. I would contact Schwinn and ask them. You can get a Schwinn cyclocomper from Walmart and attach the magnet to the flywheel. Try this from instructables. Get a cateye CC-RD200 Strada from Amazon for $35. I just ordered one for my bike. I would also get this heart rate monitor. For about $70 you will have speed, time, cadence and heart rate. Heart rate will let you know how hard you are working. Has a mount for the bars. instructables.com/ id/ Add-CadenceSpeedOdometer-to-Your-Spin-Bike./ amazon.com/ Cateye-CC-RD200-Cadence-Bicycle-Computer/ dp/ B000R6QR2C/ ref= sr_1_1?ie= UTF8 &qid= 1329092842 &sr= 8-1 amazon.com/ Omron-HR-100C-Heart-Rate-Monitor/ dp/ B000A5CEUO/ ref= sr_1_fkmr0_3?s= sporting-goods &ie= UTF8 &qid= 1329092877 &sr= 1-3-fkmr0 instructables.com/ id/ Add-CadenceSpeedOdometer-to-Your-Spin-Bike./
